Misaligned cell after partial update data

Answered
Ilaria asked on September 18, 2019

Hi,
I noticed that some times cell aren't correctly rendered after a partial update. It seems to happen when there are a lot of columns and when cells contain large numbers.
Here's a JSFiddle to reproduce the issue (scroll to the last column and then push the button).
I attached also a screenshot of the pivot after the update.
It is not a blocking issue (you can just scroll again and the cells are re-rendered), but it worsens the user experience!
Thank you!

Hello,
I would like to report a regression about this issue on the last releases (I'm currently using version 2.8.27-1). Actually, it's been a while since I opened this bug and I don't remember if the issue was actually the same, but, with the same JSFiddle I posted before:

  • If you scroll to the right, select a cell and then push on the 'Update button' and the click again on a cell, the selection overlay is misaligned with the cell (img1)
  • Anyway, if the first column is not completely visible and you click on a cell to the right and then push on update, the pivot scrolls to the left, hiding the cell you selected in the first place (im2_beforeUpdate vs im3_afterUpdate)

This sample is just a simplification of some customization we implemented on the pivot, to enable users to input figures directly by clicking on the pivot cells. So this issue is very annoying for final users.
Could you please fix it?
Thank you!
Best regards,
Ilaria

Hello, Ilaria,

We are glad to announce that our team fixed the issue with cell selection after a partial update.
This is available in the latest (2.8.33) version of Flexmonster.
You are welcome to update the component. Here is our updating to the latest version tutorial for guidance.

Also, our team investigated the issue with the pivot scrolling to the left on partial update and hiding the selected cell. Still, due to the complex logic with rendering and size calculation, we have not found a suitable solution to change this behavior at the moment.

Please let us know if the fix works fine for you.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Kind regards,
Vera
