Hi Team,
We try to connect our AAS using the Flexmonster accelerator ,
Following are the things we have specified in config file (Some actual values are altered because of Security Reason) .but still we are not able to connect with azure analysis service .
CONNECTION_STRING=Data Source=asazure://aspaas.asazure.windows.net/abcdabcd
AZURE_AUTHORITY=https://login.microsoftonline.com/abcdabcd1.onmicrosoft.com
AZURE_CLIENT_ID=aaaaa11-cccc-dddd1-111a-00000000aaa1
AZURE_CLIENT_SECRET=1000000-aaaa-11aa-1111-123456789111
and other optional parameter are deleted ,
Please specify if anything is missing or wrong here .
We are getting message there "Data Source connection - FAILED"
Hi Nil,
Thank you for posting your question.
Your configuration file seems to contain all properties necessary for AAS connection, so it is not yet clear to us what exactly might be the issue here.
That being said, we'd suggest trying to connect your AAS instance to Excel – this would help us understand whether the issue lies on the side of Flexmonster or on the side of ASS (if your Azure Analysis Services instance cannot be connected to Excel either).
Please let us know if this helps.
Best regards,
Mykhailo
Thanks for prompt assistance toward this.
We tried to connect with our AAS using the Username and Password of Azure active directory successfully in MS Excel,but our Azure Active directory we have on multifactor authentication So my question is that Is impacting anything here ?
Does we need to pass username ,password and provider in data source above. Because as per Microsoft document they provides this info in connection string .t
Kindly check and inform us regarding this.
Hi Nil,
Thank you for the clarification regarding MFA.
Flexmonster Accelerator currently does not support connecting to AAS with multifactor authentication.
There is, however, a workaround that involves using an app password in connection string instead of MFA, which might help you surpass MFA with the Accelerator. Here's a guide describing this approach in detail: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-mfa-app-passwords.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Mykhailo
